Area Attractions

Just an hour and a half from Yellowstone National Park and an hour and a half from Jackson Hole ,Wyoming, this is the perfect spot for a wonderful  trip.

We are 1 block from Big Jud’s burger joint, which has been featured on Man vs. Food on the travel channel.

There is also great fishing on the Snake River, just a few miles from the school.

BYU-I is less than 10 miles away, featuring beautiful gardens; perfect for family pictures!

Kelly Canyon is 15 miles away for some Skiing or Grand Targhee is only an hour and 20 minutes away.

If it’s hot springs you’re looking for, Heise Hot Springs is 10 miles away or Green Canyon is 35 miles.

There are several options for hiking, from very difficult at Table Rock,  to easier hikes like the paved Cress Creek hike.  Don’t forget about R Mountain. It is an intermediate level hike, with beautiful views.

Rexburg hosts a Farmers Market every Friday during the summer on College Ave.

If you forget any last minute food items the Archer general store is just a mile up the road.  (7875 S 1800 W, Rexburg, ID 83440)

Some other enjoyable activities include: Rexburg LDS Temple, Mesa Falls, Teton Dam site, Legacy Flight Museum, Porter Park Carousel (and free splash pad in the summer), Yellowstone Bear World, Rexburg Rapids, Rigby Lake, Gravity FactoryCraze Fun Zone, Fat Cats Movie Cinema, and Teton Vu Drive-In movie theater.

Additional Area Fun

We have a wonderful facility at BYU-Idaho, the Outdoor Recreation Center that offers a large selection of indoor and outdoor fun that you can rent for a reasonable price. Some of our favorites include:

  • rock wall- For $50 an hour an employee will deliver the rock wall to the front of the school.  They will set it up and ensure that everyone gets their harnesses on and is safe and ready to go. They will stay the whole time that you rent it and will take it down when you are done.
  • Tents – 6 person for $18- If you have more family coming to stay at the school that just love to camp, you can rent tents. There are a variety of types and sizes.
  • Inflatable Human Foosball Arena- $40
  • Giant Slip-in-slip 10 x 50 feet- $30

They also have canoes, kayaks, drift boat, mountain bikes, rock climbing equipment, skis…. pretty much anything you could want. Here is their link, if you don’t see something you want call them!
